Our innovative foot scanner app ped3D mobile uses a depth sensor in the front camera of Apple devices (iPhone 10 / iPhone X and newer) to create 3D scans of feet. The technology is suitable for sizing and 3D capture of the foot arch and foot structure.

Workflow for end customers


Medical supply stores that want to supply customers in remote places of the world can provide their customers with a QR code that they can use to log into the app. They can then take a 3D scan of their feet in just a few steps.

Workflow for the sales force


The second workflow is for sales representatives or qualified personnel to scan a patient's feet (not the patients scanning themselves).

A useful tool for this is our mirror, which allows the user to scan a patient's foot without having to hold the screen of the cell phone in the direction of the object to be scanned (because only the front camera of an iPhone can be used for a scan).

 

Procedure:

  1. Scan is uploaded.
  2. Scan is transferred to the individual back-end of the medical supply store that is accessible online.
  3. Scan can be downloaded for further processing.

Advantages compared with conventional methods:

Up to now, impact foams were primarily used in field service.

The advantages of the app compared to foot impression foam/step-in foam are:

  • No storage required for foot impression foams/step-in foams
  • No waste (foot impression foams/step-in foams can only be used once)
  • Low costs (scaled prices of the app are more attractive compared to foot impression foam/step-in foam)
